Cemented by the principles of his roots, Roberto Canales was impregnated with a wholehearted desire to help those in need throughout the community. This ideology led him to attend the Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Texas Tech in El Paso, Texas. The unconditional support from his family, the passion for helping others in need, and his voracious desire to keep educating himself is what led him to complete his fellowship at The University of Tufts New England Medical Center in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.
Right after his fellowship, he and his family moved to Houston, Texas wherehe obtained his Post Doctorate Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology andOncology (Cancer Research) at Baylor College of Medicine.
With desire to serve a generally disregarded community and help those in need, Roberto Canales, M.D. and his family decided to relocate to El Paso, Texas with the idea of establishing a practice that would bear his name,
"Roberto Canales, M.D. P.A." , which has been able to provide care in Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology since 1981. Roberto Canales has created a legacy instilled by the passion to help others that will, in a timely manner be resumed by his son Roberto Canales Chavez, M.D. , and the group of providers which will continue to serve the community with the same principles for many years to come.
