Carlos Estrada (Patient): Good Afternoon, my name is Carlos Andrey Estrada Villanueva I'm originally from Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. I am 25 years old and I would like to take this time to thank a person, one of the most important people in my life. Doctor  Roberto Canales, Thank you for everything you've done for me and everything that you until this date do for me.

I was born on June 21 of 1992 in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua, my Father Salvador Estrada and my Mother Guadalupe, did everything possible so that I could have a plentiful life, happy, that I would never lack of anything in life, and  a halthy life more than anything. I can say that the first years of my life I lived a completely perfect life. Unfortunately, On December 24 of 1998 I recently turned 6 years old, I woke up early in the morning of that Christmas Eve with a strong pain on my left arm, my right foot, and they trembled, my whole body trembled out of control as if I felt cold. I remember that my mouth was shaking and that I could barely talk. From the pain and as I saw that I couldnt control my body I woke up very scared. I tried to wake up my parents so that I could tell them What was happening to me. The instant that they checked me out, as I saw their faces of worry and fear I could realize that something was not right and that the following was going to be a huge challenge in my life. My parents took me to the nearest Hospital as an emergency in Juarez. In this Hospital I was hospitalized from 3 to 5 days doing studies continuously, physicals, and analysis to my brain. The doctors from that Hospital concluded that I had a tumor, they told my parents that I had a Tumor in my head the size of an orange and that It was not very likely that I could survive, and that nothing could be done.

My parents desperately looking for other options and other recommendations contacted Doctor Roberto Canales. Thanks to God and the Doctor that immediately accepted me and gave me the opportunity to study the analysis that were done in Juarez. He spent some time analisyng and studying the exams that were done to me in Juarez and he came to the conclusion that it wasn't true that I had a tumor in my head, and that the diagnose that was done in Juarez was wrong , and that what I had was a vascular malformation in the brain that caused a stroke. That effectively was big, and that it needed surgery as soon as possible. More than anything I remember looking at my parents crying and looking at them worried, and Doctor Canales not only came to check me out, but he came to see how my parents were doing, to see if we needed something inn the room of the Hospital, and see if the staff was treating us right, always very attentive in every single aspect of the stay in the Hospital and to check me out. I was sad, and he always came into the room with a tremendous joy, to tell me jokes, and make me laugh. It is something that I will never forget in my life because I can see the dedication he has to his profession.

After I was out of the Hospital, he followed up for years. I was going to my monthly check ups and he always received me with a tremendous joy. He always was on the lookout throughout every aspect of  my life until a few years a go that he still contacted me about how I was doing about the stroke and how I felt. Not only that, but that I have always been practicing sports and he always was interested in everything I was doing. I liked to play soccer and he did everything possible to make sure that I was doing things right and healthily. Therefore, I dont have the right words to thank you for everything you've done for me Doctor Canales, Thank you very much, God bless you, and I love you very much.

Roberto Canales Chávez, M.D. ( Provider):  Good Afternoon, I am Doctor Canales Chávez. I just wanted to say a few words about my dad Roberto Canales and one case that always caught my attention and that I remember a lot. It was a patient named Carlos Estrada that contacted him (Roberto Canales) because he had seizures, he lived in Juarez and he told them to take him Emergencies to get evaluated because it was a first time seizure. They took him to the Hospital, they evaluated him and told him that he had a brain tumor, and they immediately brought him here so Doctor Canales could check him out because He was his patient. Doctor Canales checked out the studies and doubted he had a brain tumor, he did more evaluations and studying the images he diagnosed that it was not  a brain tumor but that it was a vascular complication in the brain that grew up and was putting pressure in his brain that led to the seizure.
